Shear Entertainment is a new consultancy company, working with Distributors, Producers and Filmmakers. The main goal of the company is to take films to a theatrical audience and beyond, using new and innovative methods.
Recent releases include Justin Bieber’s Believe, Stone Roses: Made of Stone, Kill Your Darlings and the 25th Anniversary theatrical re-issue of Cinema Paradiso, as well as ongoing consultancy work for the BFI and Curzon.
David Shear was most recently Head of Theatrical Distribution at Revolver, working on such titles as Ill Manors, Tell No One, The Imposter, Exit Through the Gift Shop, Anuvahood and the first live action digital 3D release in the UK, U23D. Before Revolver, he was Head of Sales at The Works, ContentFilm, Winchester Films and the Feature Film Company, where he released acclaimed titles like ‘Lantana’, ‘Open Range’, ‘My Summer of Love’ and acquired and released ‘Baise Moi’ and ’2 Days in Paris’.
He has sat on the Boards of EM Media and the Jewish Film Festival, as well as the FDA and IFDA.
